Family Portrait
This started out as an assignment for the art-circle i’m a member of. We had to paint flowers. But it turned out to become a family portrait. The sunflowers represent my sis and me, and the two white butterflies represent my parents. When my dad passed on we recreated our parents bridal bouquet, red roses and little white flowers and we added two sunflowers as representatives of us, their children. Our family always encounters white butterflies after a lost loved one… so this one just had to be painted.
